FAQ
Good questions
Serving Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere and Rocky View County.
Composite or wood — which should I choose?
Composite costs more up front but needs almost no upkeep and handles Calgary freeze-thaw well. Pressure-treated wood is cheaper but needs regular staining. We’ll price both so you can decide.
Can you rebuild just the stairs or railings?
Yes — we do full decks, rebuilds, board swaps, and stairs or railings on their own. We can even move the steps when the layout needs it.
Do I need a permit for a deck in Calgary?
Often yes, depending on the deck’s height and size. We’ll tell you at the walkthrough and help arrange the permit and any engineering.
How much does a new deck cost in Calgary?
It depends on size, height and whether you choose composite or wood, so we quote per project after a site measure. As a rough guide, composite costs more up front but needs almost no upkeep — we’ll price both so you can compare.
Do you build decks in winter?
Yes — framing and composite decking can go in year-round in Calgary. Concrete footings are easier in milder weather, so for a full rebuild we’ll plan the schedule with you.
